What Are Wellness-Based Services?
Our wellness-based services are rooted in the understanding that care does not have to begin with a diagnosis, crisis, or something being โwrong.โ At Intentional Simplicity, we approach wellness as an ongoing, preventative practice that can support you in understanding yourself, navigating life experiences, and caring for your well-being over time. Our approach is culturally responsive, creative, and informed by perspectives that extend beyond traditional Western clinical models.
Wellness-based services are not a single form of care. They reflect the broader philosophy that guides our work. Depending on your needs and goals, your work with Intentional Simplicity may include Wellness-Based Individual and Couples Therapy, Decolonized Coaching, or Embodied Psychedelic Integration. Each provides a different pathway for supporting sustainable well-being.
Intentional Simplicity does not provide diagnoses, accept insurance, or offer crisis response services. When a clientโs needs extend beyond our scope, we help connect them with trusted practitioners through appropriate referrals. Please note that additional care does not have to mean an end to our work together. We can continue supporting your ongoing wellness alongside other forms of care.
How We Understand Wellness
We use the Eight Dimensions of Wellness as a flexible framework for understanding well-being as multidimensional and interconnected. These dimensions include emotional, physical, social, spiritual, intellectual, occupational, environmental, and financial wellness.

Rather than addressing each dimension in isolation, they provide an orientation that allows us to gently shift focus across seasons of life in response to your unique needs, capacity, and lived experience.
Working Together
In our sessions, we use a blend of decolonized psychology, expressive arts therapy, narrative therapy, positive psychology, and African-centered unconscious psychological healing. Some days we talk through emotions or life transitions. Other days we create art, explore family patterns, or use tarot and Jungian archetypes to uncover dreams and deeper meaning.
Who I Work With
I work best with clients who are curious about their inner world and want therapy that reflects their culture, energy, and lived experience. I support BIPOC, neurodiverse, and LGBTQIA individuals who are navigating identity, grief, burnout, and the emotional weight of being misunderstood.
The process is collaborative and responsive rather than prescriptive. How we work may shift according to what you bring into the room, the type of service you are receiving, and what feels supportive for your needs, capacity, and goals. This space invites you to slow down, unmask, and reconnect with yourself and your narrative. All of our Wellness Based Services are intuitive, culturally responsive, and grounded in the belief that you are the center of your wellness.

Wellness-Based Individual and Couples Therapy
At Intentional Simplicity, we prioritize nurturing the whole person through wellness-based therapy. Our holistic approach supports overall wellbeing, celebrates unique cultural backgrounds, and fosters meaningful therapeutic relationships.
Wellness-based therapy promotes personal reflection, identifies patterns, and facilitates authentic conversation and imaginative exploration. The goal is to empower clients with agency, coherence, and lasting wellbeing they can integrate into their daily lives.

Individual Wellness-Based Therapy
Individual Wellness-Based Therapy fosters self-understanding within the context of your life. We explore topics such as identity, emotional patterns, relationships, grief, and how your cultural and societal experiences shape your perspective. Sessions are tailored to each individual.
In addition to our co-created dialogue, we may incorporate creative practices, mindfulness, and other embodied approaches that facilitate deeper reflection. We recognize that emotional wellness intertwines with relationships, work, and environments.
Our goal is to enhance self-knowledge and promote sustainable self-care, allowing you to navigate life’s changes authentically.
Couples & Relational Wellness-Based Therapy
Couples & Relational Wellness-Based Therapy focuses on understanding the relationship as a living system rather than identifying a “problem” person. Each partner brings their own backgrounds, communication styles, and expectations regarding love and connection.
Sessions may cover topics like communication, conflict, trust, intimacy, and relationship dynamics, aiming to uncover underlying messages and enhance understanding.
The goal is to foster clarity, meaningful connection, and intentional interactions between partners.
Sustaining Our Work Through Self-Therapy
Self-therapy at Intentional Simplicity LLC is how the therapeutic work continues beyond the session. It embraces the belief that our long-term wellbeing relies heavily on cultivating a practice of self-trust, practicing the capacity to care for, understand, and work with yourself outside of the therapeutic relationship.
It’s important to recognize that meaningful change often extends beyond the confines of formal sessions; healing truly flourishes when we equip ourselves with the tools to process, integrate, and fully embrace our experiences in the rhythm of daily life.

Thoughtfully designed by Sarafina, self-therapy practices nurture insight, bolster self-trust, and honor the therapeutic relationship while fostering independence. This adaptable approach offers flexibility that traditional talk therapy may not, making healing not only more accessible and embodied but also sustainable, transcending mere intellectual understanding.
In practical terms, self-therapy can support biweekly or monthly care by giving clients meaningful ways to continue engaging with their wellness between sessions. Depending on what emerges in our work, practices may include reflection, creative exploration, psychoeducation, or personalized resources designed to support integration into everyday life.
Decolonized Coaching
Decolonized Coaching at Intentional Simplicity is a reflective, creative, and action-oriented process that helps clients understand their lives and work outside of inherited expectations about who they are supposed to be.
Rather than automatically treating productivity, professional achievement, urgency, individualism, or dominant definitions of success as the goal, Decolonized Coaching creates space to examine what has shaped you, what still serves you, and what you want to intentionally create for yourself.

Sessions integrate conversation, psychological insight, creative practices, symbolism, and personalized Soul-ution Sheets, which translate the work of each session into something tangible that clients can continue exploring beyond the session.
Embodied Psychedelic Integration
Embodied Psychedelic Integration offers a reflective, body-centered space for making meaning of psychedelic experiences and exploring how what emerged may be integrated into everyday life.
Sessions may explore emotions, sensations, imagery, symbolism, relationships, questions, or shifts in perspective through conversation, somatic awareness, mindfulness, and creative practices. Integration does not require an experience to have been profound, positive, spiritual, or transformative. Experiences that feel confusing, difficult, unfinished, or simply hard to understand can also be explored.
Intentional Simplicity does not provide, prescribe, or administer psychedelic substances. Embodied Psychedelic Integration supports reflection and integration surrounding psychedelic experiences.
