Returning to Yourself: Self-Therapy

Returning to Yourself: Self-Therapy is a 34-page guided digital workbook centered on Black women workplace wellness, self-relationship, and navigating workplace, relational, and systemic stress. Created for women within the African diaspora, the workbook offers a culturally responsive space to explore what you may be carrying within yourself, your body, your relationships, and your workplace experiences. Through reflection, somatic awareness, self-advocacy, and integration, the workbook invites you to reconnect with yourself without treating wellness as another task to perform. In doing so, you can create more space to notice what you need and how you want to respond.

Inside the workbook, you will explore:

  • workplace stress and experiences that affect your wellbeing
  • somatic practices for coming back into the body
  • nervous system awareness and integration
  • self-advocacy and boundary setting
  • self-concept and your relationship with yourself
  • self-worth, confidence, courage, and self-esteem
  • self-compassion and internal self-attacks
  • Divinity, Healing, Advocacy, and Kindness
  • 30 Days of Workplace Gentle Check-Ins
  • daily, weekly, and monthly self-love planning
  • practices for protecting your energy and honoring your life

The CARE Framework

The workbook introduces the CARE Framework, a practical self-advocacy tool for checking in with yourself, acknowledging your experience without apologizing for it, communicating or restating a boundary, and knowing when to disengage. In practice, the framework offers a way to pause before deciding how you want to respond.

30 Days of Workplace Gentle Check-Ins

The workbook includes 30 gentle workplace reflections exploring experiences such as perfectionism, shame, boundaries, self-talk, support, dignity, self-compassion, and separating what happened from the story you may be carrying about it. In addition, these practices approach Black women workplace wellness as more than managing stress at work. Instead, they create space to consider how your workplace, relationships, body, identity, and larger systems can intersect with your experience of wellbeing.

Move at Your Own Pace

There is no expectation to complete the workbook in one sitting or move through it perfectly. Write, draw, reflect, rest, revisit a section, or leave something unfinished. The intention is to create space to hear yourself more clearly and practice returning to yourself, time and time again.
