I enjoy speaking about the topic of self-awareness! Through my meditative practice I have come to honor the idea that we all exist as individual beings. I have an interest in understanding how people explore their patterns individually and externally. This practice aids in emotional intelligence. Emotional intelligence allows us to use our perspective and critical thinking skills effectively. On a deeper level, it requires us to consider our weaknesses and strengths at any given moment. This will determine what motivates our patterns. I believe that self-awareness can also be unintentionally misunderstood as self-consciousness. Self-consciousness in my understanding is a deep focus on the conscious, which is also being self-aware. However, being overly self-aware preoccupies our mind with irrational thoughts, mainly surrounding how others perceive us. This can come across as judgment, shame, embarrassment, and fear.
